I bought two of these lights in cool white, and used them to build my own 12 volt bike lighting system. I needed lights that were bright, use very little power, and have a wide beam. These lights fit all three categories. They appear to be very well made, out of cast aluminum. It doesn't look like something you'd ever throw away!
